VIKING SKULL Announces New Lineup, Begins Work On New Album
November 18, 2006Vocalist/guitarist Roddy Stone of the Corby, U.K.-based old-school metallers VIKING SKULL has recruited drummer Jules Cooper and bassist Jess Margera to complete the group's current lineup following the recent departures of Darren Smith (guitar) and Gordon Morrison (drums). The band is currently in the studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania recording "Chapter Two" for an early 2007 release.
VIKING SKULL earlier in the year signed a deal with 456 Entertainment/Universal to release their debut album, "Born in Hell", in the U.S. Upon its U.K. release last October, "Born in Hell" received rave reviews from the U.K. metal press, with Metal Hammer's 9/10 review stating that the band were "like MOTÖRHEAD on testosterone supplements." A longtime supporter of the band, 456 Entertainment's Bam Margera (MTV's "Jackass", "Viva La Bam") said, "We're stoked to have VIKING SKULL on board. They are the hottest rock 'n' roll band to come out of the U.K. since BLACK SABBATH." Carson Daly, who co-founded 456 Entertainment, added, "Your favorite rock and roll band now sucks — VIKING SKULL will out-distort, out-solo, and out-rock all others."
